Hi guys, i have been "building" my skyshed ror observatory in sketchup, to get a feel for the plans, before building the real thing. i don't understand the reasoning/logic behind the detail skyshed uses for the roll off roof track/assembly (see attached renderings)..
The room on the left is the 8' x 10' control room covered by a permanent roof. of course the room on the right is the 12' x 10' observing room with a permanent pier placed in the center.. The design brief for me was to 1) make use of the existing shed, 2) keep costs to a minimum, 3) sliding roof, 4) diy. here is what i started with: so i set about getting a few ideas and plans formulated, some on paper and some in my head. first thing i realised was i needed somewhere for the stuff that was already being stored in the shed. i.
